I'm in process of going 4.56s on mine. 32 inch swampers. I was going for 4.10s originally but 4.56s front end fell into my lap. Mine isn't a street rig tho so for a DD 4.10s would proly do you fine as far as MPGs go. I know that turdy fives will end up on mine at some point and will proly want even lower gears then lol.

An aluminum 17 wheel w/tire will weigh less than a steel wheel w/tire. The benefits of this are less unsprung weight, leading to better braking, accelerating, and handling overall

Dunno what year the OP had but that hasn't bern true since the '80s
