that is what a 32? I would run 4.10s or 4.56s.

I'm in process of going 4.56s on mine. 32 inch swampers. I was going for 4.10s originally but 4.56s front end fell into my lap. Mine isn't a street rig tho so for a DD 4.10s would proly do you fine as far as MPGs go. I know that turdy fives will end up on mine at some point and will proly want even lower gears then lol.

I wonder how much difference in weight there is running a 17" rim?

It depends on tire and rim. Some combos actually come out the same

An aluminum 17 wheel w/tire will weigh less than a steel wheel w/tire. The benefits of this are less unsprung weight, leading to better braking, accelerating, and handling overall

3.73 came with the tow option. Id say 4.56 or 4.88 both will leave you room to go up to like a 37

Like I said, it depends on the combo. A couple months ago I did a comparison and looked up some 15" steel vs 17" JK Moabs on the same tire with same overall diameter, 33" I think. I can't remember which one I looked up, but the metric 17" tire was the same weight as the 15". Same for the rim - though it was lighter material, the larger size negated any weight savings.

The term you're looking for btw is "rotating mass".

Rarer than XJ Dana 44s.

TJs and YJs, however, have 3.73s aplenty on account that they're even less aerodynamic and the 30RH/32RH is a colossal piece of ****
