I was thinking about putting new gears in but not sure what ratio to go with or where to get them. I have a 94 Cherokee country, 4.0, auto, 33 inch tires, Dana 30 up front, and 8.25 27 spline in rear. Any help would be great.

4.56s will be perfect, FYI 4.88 is as low as you can get for the 30 and the 8.25.

 

I just ordered nitro gears from just differentials. I got those because they are the only one who make 4.88's for the 8.25. anyway, service seems good and the pricing was the cheapest I found.
4.56 is what you want unless you do a ton of highway driving then i might look at 4.10.

 

I don't drive it on the road much. I'm getting ready to weld the 8.25 this weekend. Gotta get it ready for rausch creek in may.

 

yeah definitely 4.56, maybe even 4.88's. if you dont highway drive much or at all 4.88 would give you great low range.

Yukon makes 4.88's for 8.25" axles as does Superior.

 

really? I was under the impression only nitro did. huh. actually I dont see where anyone else makes a 4.88 set.

Nitro was the first and only one for a while but everyone else is catching up now.
