Gear change question
I'm still kind of new to the Jeep thing, so don't laugh at my question. I have a 97 XJ with a stock LSD with 3.55's and 245/75R16 tires. I am wondering if I upgrade to 4.11's and the corresponding carriers, will my LImited Slip still work, or does that need to be replaced also?

What rear axle do you have?
Are you sure you have an LSD?
The clutch discs are easy to replace, especially if you are removing the carrier to regear anyway.
A new carrier is needed for the front axle, the carrier break is 3.73 and up.
A new carrier is not needed with either the Dana 35 or the Chrysler 8.25".

It is a 8.25 and I am sure it is a LSD and it works great. I guess it was standard on the Up Country package.

you do have a LSD, and yes it will still work with the new gears. if the clutches are in good condition you wont even have to touch the LS parts.
but, IMO. 3.55 to 4.11 is not much of a jump. i woulld hold off on regearing until you make a jump to 33" or taller
