For gas mileage, 4.0L is happiest at 2500RPM. You have to decide where you want to use jeep most... and don't forget future plans of upgrades. upgrading same thing twice sucks

Im running 3.73 gears spun by the GM2.8V6/AX5 combo, turning 31" Wild Countrys for the past 6 years. Dana 44s have 3.54, not 3.55. Only Cherokees that have 3.54 ratio, have a Dana 44 outback. Dana 30 front matches rear with 3.54s. Of course you could use a 3.55 Dana 30 with the Dana 44 3.54 rear.
