Default Gauge cluster !

Can the tcm make my gauge cluster be intermittent... Sayin this that when the gauges do work and the check engine comes on the scanner tells me the tcm to pcm failure .. But truck shifts fine ?

possibly an intermittent short? Follow the wiring diagram. Find issue. Fix issue. Drink a beer. Done.
