I had a stock one. Then I found some 3/16 plate for free. Made this one. Used my left over plate to make a steel torso target. So my skid is bullet proof. Most handguns any way.lol http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/..._Tank_Skid.htm

Before I went to a fuel cell I used a Rusty's tank skid.
A bit pricey but worth it, very thick metal, used it as a battering ram in a few tight spots.
No problem getting the exhaust by it.

I'm running the stock gas tank skid. It was cheap and is more than strong enough (jacked the back end up with it to test). I've got it mated with a Hidden Hitch 2" receiver hitch and while it is tight with the exhaust, it works and doesn't rub.
