I just installed the screaming demon Coil, Cap, rotor, and wires. The coil says to change gap to .065. Seems like a lot. Has anyone tried these yet? Should I just gap them a little bit or just go to the full recommended gap?

Yup he should know by now, from that much of a gap must be quite a setup, all of it! I always ran all MSD but never ran a gap like that even on the race motors with a 13.5-1 CR. with a few more HP than an XJ.
If I might ask how much was that setup and I'm sure it was an eBay deal correct?

You run the risk of burning up the distributor cap, rotor, and plug wires by running that much gap. Not real expensive to replace, but when and where will you be stranded?
