I am getting a 2000 xj that I'm dropping a sbc350 in and was wondering, can I just use the entire Chevy drivetrain from engine, tcase, transmission, and axles. The donor Chevy is a 76 half ton.

 

It would be a lot of work to put to do , but yes you can .

 

ok, next question. is it worth it for the Chevy axles? I know d60s are more drop in considering the tcase drop. But I don't have them and I have a complete Chevy. Or could I get away with the d30s or whatever that are stock on the jeep for now with the sbc until I find axles

 

1st thing is what are you going to use the xj for street , off road . hard or just some trail running .?

 

not planning much street use, it'll be easy use crawling to start with but progressively more difficult terrain as I get used to the vehicle since this is my first suv. My Chevy was my first off road rig and rolled it after a rock system gave out underneath while crawling over it
