Full Suspension Rebuild + Upcountry lift

I did the ZJ upgrade on my 2" lifted '96 that has 235 tires. If your replacing all of the tie rod parts for an XJ the cost difference for all of the parts for the ZJ upgrade saves you around $20. If you've never seen the two together there is a big difference in favor of the ZJ one as far as being better built. The OEM tie rod adjusting tube on mine had been slightly bent twice so I did the upgrade.
As far as your list goes are you planning on replacing all the steering linkage parts?

Any part that should be replaced after 24 years, yes. Where did you order your ZJ parts from? I think I heard that Amazon was cheaper than RockAuto but I don't remember. Any info you have on the upgrade I'd appreciate it.

Ordered all my parts from RockAuto because one or more parts were backordered at Amazon.
There isn't really any vital info to give regarding the upgrade. It is simply replacing an XJ tie rod assembly with one for a ZJ (V8 equipped). Below are the parts I used.
2 - ES2079S adjusting sleeves (XJ or ZJ)
2 - ES3096L tie rod ends (XJ or ZJ)
1 - DS1238 tie rod (XJ drag link)
1 - DS1312 tie rod (ZJ)
1 - DS1235 track bar (XJ)

Found this while surfing. First link is for an XJ while the second one is for a V8 equipped ZJ but will fit an XJ. Both are complete assemblies.

I just started replacing my leaf springs today. I measured from center of axle to fender flare and got 17.5 on the front and 17.25 on the rear before starting.
I am sure those measurements will change!
New and the old springs that were flat WITH the Monroe spring over shocks.
I should have put the bushings in the spring prior to starting, as they are a bear to get in!

Got it all back together. The trick to those bushings (the ones with a metal sleeve on the outside-cheap) was to "spread" the eye of the spring with a screwdriver a tad, freeze the bushings and then drive them in with a wood block and a BFH (big hammer).
The before measurements were 17.5 on the front and 17.25 on the rear.
This is what that looked like:
The after measurements were 17.5 on the front and 19.75 on the rear.
This is what that looks like:
I have new rear sway bar bushings coming in tomorrow, and I will do the final torque tomorrow on all the nuts and bolts and replace the bushings.
So what is the consensus on leveling out the rake? My wife seems to like the Jeep look as she calls it, but I think the downhill driving position may bug me.
What do you think? New front coils and 3/4 coil spacers or new coils and no spacers or what?

I would do it, but I want to give me time behind the wheel in this "raked" profile and give the springs a little time to settle before I do it.
So yeah, check with me next year!

As far as the rear bump stops go parts catalogs show 2 numbers.
52004297 Height = 74mm
52002393 Height = 104mm
This is out of my '94 to '96 parts catalog but also the same in my '00 one.
I always assumed the longer ones were for the Up Country Suspension.
They also show a reinforcement. 52002386.
https://www.moparpartsgiant.com/part...~52002386.html
Now I just replaced my rear bump stops and know I don't have that on my Jeep.
Guessing it might be an Up Country thing also. Don't think it is necessary but....
Now there is one thing I wish I did that somebody here did.
Look at the last picture with the hole in it.
https://www.carparts.com/shock-bump-stop/crown/52004297
They filled that in with something. Can't remember what they used. RTV, foam, Flex Seal, etc.
Logic being that water will get and remain in there rusting the bump stop from the inside.
Which made perfect sense to me. I was wondering about using some gasket material.
Now for the fronts it gets a little more confusing.
They only show the one part number. 52004295.
And when you Google it you see this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Crown-Autom...-/283233912894
But also this:
https://www.quadratec.com/products/5...yABEgJXa_D_BwE
Now this is the part number in my '91 to '93 parts catalog.
Again even in that one just the one bump stop.
So I am almost under the impression that the fronts use the same bump stop no matter what suspension.
But you can buy longer ones.
https://rubiconexpress.com/Suspensio...pn=R%2FERE1396
So the fronts still confuse me and again I am just guessing the longer ones for the back would be for the Up Country Suspension.
So here is another one of my dumb ideas.
I am toying with the idea of keeping my front coils and using a spacer. Was told by somebody who has done this that a 1.75"
spacer works pretty well. If I wheeled my Jeep I would replace the coils but since I am just going for a look for a DD figure that it will be OK.
So my dumb idea is this:
https://jksmfg.com/i-9056829-cheroke...il-spacer.html
Now I have seen these as cheap as $120 but figure they are knockoffs. Now if you replace your front coils you can't get the adjustment with these that you need.
Figure you need about 3/4" and this are only adjustable lift height from 1-1/2" to 3-3/4".
But my logic is that if I don't replace my front coils then the adjustment range will work.
But more importantly will be able to fine tune the adjustment in the front to exactly where I would like it to be.
Like Sig220 was thinking do the rear springs, let her "settle" for a bit, and then see what would needed for a spacer in the front to get her where I want her.
But with these just do it all in one shot and make any necessary adjustments down the road if necessary.
How is that for a dumb idea?

I'd just slap in CC782s and spacers. It's been about 21 months I'll go measure later to check if there was settling.
