front suspension drop brackets (spokane, cda, pullman)
So my drop brackets are coming off my frame. The self tapping bolts are stripped out. It makes me pretty uneasy since they make clunking sounds and the shift when I hit the brakes. Anybody wanna do some welding? I only need a couple beads laid out, shouldn't take too long. I'll buy ya beer!

The red arrows show where the brackets are secured via the original control arm mounts. The red dots show where the self tapping bolts should be. The orange lines are where the welding should be.

Sorry i'm no where near you, but i have to say don't drive it like that. Those bolts being loose could cause them to sheer off - catastrophic problem. I wish i could help ya more.

I just got the rocky road brackets. They take care of that by running a plate all the way back to the trans crossmember and bolting it in there. They dont tie into the origional UCA mount though. I havent gotten them on yet but they are pure beef so I dont think that will matter. Might think about fabbing a plate that ties all the way back to the trans crossmember while your at the welding.

There aren't any factory holes that I can fit a nut and a wrench/ratchet in to tighten it down. Turns out that the piece I'm talking about is only a brace, the brackets are held in via the original control arm mounts. Either way, I got under there and tightened the lca bolts and the bolt that holds the bracket in at the original lca bolt hole. They were pretty damned loose! I'm probably going to get on the upper control arm bolts later today. I think it'll be good for highway driving until I weld those braces into the frame.
