Default Front lunchbox locker question?

So I'm thinkn about getting a locker (probably an arb air or eaton e in the rear). Main thing is I'm a little confused about lunchbox lockers. My main question is does a front lunchbox take effect in 2wd or only in 4? If it engages even in 2 that just seems dangerous and would be out of the question.

Aussie is a lunchbox easiest to install, not active in 2wd. I love mine. the main lunchbox lockers are aussie, spartan, and lock-rite

Just so I don't start an arguement, I was saying that lunchbox lockers are the easiest type of locker to install. Not that aussies are easier to install than other lunchbox's. They are all about the same difficulty

Just make sure you don't plan on using 4wd in the snow on the road

Actually until today I didn't think I had any lockers, but today I was out muddin and climbin, I tried going up a pretty steep hill and half way up lost traction and started spinning my tires while in 4 full time (NP242 transfer) after backing down the hill I saw three spots where my tires had dug in, not two not four but three. That leads me to believe I have a front locker installed by a previous owner.
Now I'm done with my short novel.

hows it react? id imagine driving through snow if you needed 4wd on the road youd be going pretty slow so it couldnt be that terrible could it?

that could be the reason that some people only lock one axle. usually the rear first, so when it is snowing and you dont want to be all over the road sliding back and forth. u put it in 4wd than at least the front wont be reacting like the rear and make the truck slide sideways when it breaks traction
