I just seem to have bad luck. I've heard stories of the things people tell on here and they don't mess anything up...

Good thing I went ahead and ordered the hubs, they will be here tomorrow. What causes this?

Age. They probably ran out of grease from age and then we're over heating.

Think it did any damage? Think I will tell any differences other than vibration going away after the hubs?

With hubs like that, that's your vibration in the front end. I'm surprised they didn't break. Damage wise, just check the rotors, pads, possibly axle shaft splines. But being a unitized bearing, there shouldn't be anything. Key word being shouldn't.

Yup. Even though they are sealed, over time they wear out. And believe it or not, the can be re greased lol. Mines came apart once when I was removing it once.about 50k miles ago. Put new grease it and hammered it shut. I dont suggest though trying to open it intentionally. It just opened from the air hammer and how rust into the knuckle it was

Rotors, pads and shaft splines look fine and I just put in new u joints so until I get the hubs in my jeep tomorrow it's sitting in the driveway. I'm just glad nothing bad happened because of the bad hubs. Learn something new all the time.

Oh well I guess it's not the end of the world. Not the cheapest repair, but doesn't seem like it will be too incredibly difficult.

I'm glad we caught that before it was a catastrophic failure.
