Default "frame stiffeners"

What's everyone's opinion on brands of frame stiffeners? Also, HD Offroad has a set including front, middle, and rear stiffeners. Are all three necessary? I know the more the better but where does the XJ do most of its body flexing? I'll buy the set if it seems like the best idea, however if I can save coin I'd like to do that as well. Cost plus shipping on HD makes the set the only option, but maybe Ruffstuff would work good too. Just getting ideas because I'm getting something before damage happens.
Thanks for any info in advance!!

they are all pretty much the same from what i have seen. you could go even cheaper and get channeled steel and cut it to fit.

I was wondering if anyone has gone the cheap route and used channel steel or any type of angle iron

3x3x3/16" seems to be the most popular. Have a drill press or get ready to get some serious wrist workout drilling holes for rosette welding. It will also take a good bit of massaging to get them to follow the contours of the frame rails. I bought the set from HD Offroad as my time was worth more than the savings in using angle iron.

is it really worth your time to build them? it will take a while. i have all 3 HD offroad ones, i dont see the need for super thick ones.

after talking directly to Brian at HDoffroadengineering, my complete set is in the mail right now. he has me confident that the those stiffeners (even though they are thinner 10 gauge) will hold my jeep toghether for a long time. I orginally had a set from ruffstuff but they were overweight and I didn't like the oval predrilled holes they had. so I got rid of them

I went with the set from Ruffstuff. I didn't find them to be that heavy, but welding them in is a pita, but I think anytime you weld to the unitbody it sucks. I used Ruffstuff simply because I've used a lot of their products and always have been happy. Nothing against Brian or any other company, just have lots of buying experience with Dan and Co.
