Frame stiffeners?
Anyone rolling with the Currie or Detour frame stiffeners?
If so, could you post up a picture on how theyre put on (I know welded on) but the Currie's confuses me on how they install.
Thanks!

I would get detours, cuz I like supporting vendors. Also, he runs what he makes, so it has to be good. I haven't seen the install instructions for the stiffeners the detours has, but I have seen other install instructions of his and they were great.

Not a Currie
The Curries are reputable for quality. I don't have direct experience with their stiffeners install. Will ask buddy Terry tomorrow, he had the system. You have to really clean up all surfaces where expecting to weld. No way to weld thru factory sealants or any sprays we may have applied over the years. I swear I'll never use the spray ashphalt sealant again, paint only. I did my own frame capping, took a lot of time, fastens to the floor pans, the origninal rails, and overlapped on each other. Not as slick as the Currie but definatly stiff. The Peep needed new floors and frame repairs from winter salt, cut out the old, weld in the new. If your ride is in good shape get the preformed catalogue items, they are really slick. You need to gut the interior prior to weld, have a friend watch for fire, you or the jeep, when welding!

I always keep a can of flat black stove paint or tremclad heat paint and some dollar store brushes. The heat paint on drums, they get hot. Also use it on exhaust pipes and muffler seams, got over 200K on the current muffler and may get the winter out of it. Quick wire brush over the drums and brush on the stove paint, flat flashes out and dries quicker than gloss.

awesome info fellas and thanks for your input!
I'm really interested in the Currie system but I need to see how it is welded on before I hit "Buy Now". I've seen Detours stuff and its more of a Unibody frame slider as well as a stiffener.
Currie is more of just a stiffener. I need to install before I purchase new axles.

Detours mounts like follows (per his build thread)
I like that detours is a piggy back and can be used on other jeeps in the future. He is a really good guy and I am sure he will answer all of your questions:
