FiTech Programmable Fuel Injection Installation on 1993 Cherokee Sport with Automatic
SubscribeHello everyone,
I’m in the process of installing a FiTech programmable fuel injection system on my 1993 Cherokee Sport, which has an automatic transmission. I was wondering if anyone here has done a similar install and how they addressed the wiring, especially concerning the automatic transmission.
What modifications did you make to get everything working properly? Did you need to change anything with the transmission connection or use any specific adapters?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I'm curious why you are installing a FiTech system on your '93? Aren't they normally for carbureted engines converting over to EFI? Anyways, sounds cool. I wish I could give you more direct help but...
I felt like, in the spirit of "keeping the helpful forum thing" going, I would at least give you a reply.
Evidently over at another forum, this guy was successful with his FiTech system install...

For your FiTech swap on the '93 XJ: The stock AW4 transmission will work fine, but you’ll need to retain the OEM TCU (Transmission Control Unit) and its wiring don’t cut it. The FiTech won’t control the trans directly. Just splice the FiTech’s TPS signal into the existing throttle position sensor wiring so the TCU still gets its input. No special adapters needed unless you’ve hacked up the harness before. Double-check grounds clean connections prevent weird shifting issues. If you ditched the stock ECU already, make sure the TCU still gets power (red/white wire). Good luck.
