1988 Cherokee Fuel System / Electical Help
My daughter just bought a 1988 Cherokee 2 wheel drive 4 speed stick with a 4.0l straight six and 189,000 miles. Now I got to fix it! (go figure) The thing starts every time and runs down the road ok but misses intermittently through out all levels of the RPM range (anywhere between 100 and 4000 rpm). It acts like either a bad coil or some plug wires or the plugs themselves are not firing or, the fuel delivery system is not proving consistent fuel (possibly injectors or some sensor is fouled). Being an old school Hot Rodder, I would be happy to tear of the MPI for an old fashion carb and distributor set up. Is this possible? Or, should I just pay the BIG bucks to have it fixed in a Jeep repair shop. Any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Don't put a carb on the Jeep and don't pay a shop to fix it. Sense you are an old skool Hot Rodder, you have all the knowledge needed to fix this Jeep....and we can help so ask away.
