Default Xj turning radius

I found a 1992 Cherokee 4x4 Laredo loaded with 80,000 miles.....Bought it, and have made only one modification.....The original springs were weak and no good, and I installed a rough country 3" lift.....other than that, just the regular stuff, new a/c compressor, misc. replacement parts......
I recently found a set of rims from a 2001 jeep wrangler tj with good off road tires...the tires are 31 x 10.5....They look great and drive great.....But there is one issue.....If I turn the steering wheel all the way to the left, there is no issue at all...if I turn the steering all the way to the right, the tire will rub the inner fender well some.....I have noticed before, that the vehicle will turn sharper to the right then the left.....It does not appear that the steering gear box has ever been off..I did however have to replace all the bolts in it with grade 8 bolts, as the old factory ones sheared off one day while backing out of my driveway....
Is it normal for cherokee's to turn sharper to the right due top some geometric limitation in the steering linkage or something?
Its not a huge deal, but it bugs me when the tire rubs !
Thanks for all your help !
Mike
p.s. it seems to turn to the left at an acceptable rate as well, but not as sharp as to the right....thx

Did you install an adjustable track bar? When you lift the jeep the front axle shifts to the driver's side. An adjustable track bar is used to recenter the axle side to side. Not sure if it is necessary, but would solve your rubbing issue w/o reducing turning radius.

did not install adjustable track bar.....I put everything that came with that rough country kit on it?

I also had every bushing and grommet on the front end replaced with those polyurethane ones.....and front end realigned.....and all new gas charged shocks came with the kit....

I think I will inspect and possibly replace the track bar ! Just watched video on installation and it mentioned the track bar bushings being a common culprit of death wobble......sounds like a worthwhile repair just for good measure !

If you are not suffering from death wobble, then you can probably leave it as is. If it isn't too noticeable and doesn't cause any other issues, then I'd leave it. 3" is the threshold typically where you MAY need an adjustable track bar.

That is such a nice looking Cherokee.
I think the wheels are perfect for it too.

Thank you so much DustyWagoneer.....I got so lucky on this Cherokee ! Funny, I have a super nice vette, and a hot rod Falcon, and I swear, I like driving the Cherokee the most !
I found a great deal on the wheels and tires on craigslist, ...I still have my original set of wheels and street tires.....I thought it would be cool to have a set of street tires and off road tires......I dont see myself putting the street tires back on it though, because the off road tires look so good ! Ha !
Thank you for your compliment .!

Headliner is an easy one. But labor intensive/tedious. Remove visors. Remove dome light. Remove all trim around headliner. Remove headliner.

Pull old fabric off backing board. Scrub/scrap/peel old material off. Need to get all of the foam off the backing board. Be careful not to tear into backing board too much, will show through headliner when installed.

You can buy the headliner material at most any fabric shop. 3M makes a good headliner adhesive, you can find it at most auto parts stores. Specifically called out as headliner adhesive. IIRC, I used 4 or 6 cans. Follow the directions on the can. Basically spray on liner material and on backing board, let tack up, stick the two together. After the glue is setup, then you trim the fabric to fit the backing board. I used a handful of razor blades. They dull quickly on the glue coated fabric.

Reinstall. I'm no upholstery person by any stretch of the imagination but mine turned out looking good.

I think this is probably one of the best videos on doing your headliner.
