Default fiberglass cowl hood

Just posting this for anyone who is interested. Looks like these are actually available. I have no experience with fiberglass body products; how they hold up vs steel.

This site says they have one too, but in steel. I have sent them a message to confirm they have them in stock and to see if they are steel or fiberglass. Total cost after shipping is $578

I know, that's why I asked. They let you put it in the cart and get to the check out step. Just seemed a little funny since they are supposed to be unavailable.

Not going to spend big money on a fiberglass one to only have to cut it up because it has no openings.

I agree. It says functional, but the pics look like it's closed. There is a guy on Ebay selling them and it says he wants you to specify functional or non functional. He makes it sound like he is making them as he gets orders.

Some guy, think it was this site, awhile back came across what looked like one of the Reflexxion ones and was asking if he should get it professionally painted. Responses pretty much consisted of no and you should sell it to me. LOL.

I have to agree with jbsjunk about it not being functional.

Not that I would buy one, 5.9 Hemi Louvres getting cut in my hood as I type, $330 for the Ebay one does not seem completely crazy.

Fiberglass hood on a Jeep......Maybe a Mall Crawler and not taken off road a lot on difficult terrain. I use these functional hoods on race cars and street where hood will not close due to engine/intake clearance and cool air is required at high speed..

that's the one I saw. $330 isn't bad if it is functional. I would have to agree with Fred; if you are rock crawling and flexing I could see the fiberglass cracking or getting damaged.

still waiting to hear back from the one site that claims they have a steel one.
