Fender Cutting and Stock Flares
So right now I'm waiting for my XJ to get back from the alignment shop. I had an idea. So the stock fender mounts use the clamping force of the body and mount to hold the fender in place. Most fender cut and folds have the fender folded to the inside. What about combining the two and bending the cut fenders out and clamping the stock fenders in place. Most likely with the assistance of some bolts. That way I get the benefit of cut outs and the "freeness" of...well... stock flares. I plan on getting some bushwhackers in the future but a set of lockers are more important. Tell me if I am completely off.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I don't know if it would work because the folding the area outward might interfere with the alignment of the flare fitting over the mount. That is if I understand what you are trying to do correctly.

I would remove the stock mounts and fold the fenders up to where the stock mounts are right now. Creating new mounts with the cut and folded fenders.

What year is your Cherokee? If it has the newer style flares the fenders attach with a bracket that bolts through holes in the fender. Drill new holes and bolt it back up.

That's what I was thinking. Folding them inwards would work but I don't really see it being worth the hassle.
