Extra lights
So im thinking of putting to more lights on my 98 XJ but i dont know what i really want to do. Ive seen many different ways and places of mounting lights. On the front bumper, on the roof above the widshield, coming out of the side of the hood, and so on... so I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on where to mount lights. i havent bought any yet, im trying to get some ideas first. so any thoughts would help, thanks

My home made license plate frame is oversized . I mounted a driving light on each side . I did not want to use the bumper. this way, if i sell the jeep, thelights can come off as there had never been there.

I used to have a set on my cattle catcher there, but I got rid of that thing and I am currently going to add 8 lights to my roof rack that I made. 4 facing front, 1 on the front two corners and 2 reverse lights. Some say its overkill, yet I am always the one who gets called at night from people who are stuck
P.S. how'd your doors turn out?

i like that idea of the oversized license plate holder. that way i dont have to get a new bumper right away. And as for my doors... i decided to just leave them for now and deal with it. but this summer i plan to really fix it up. New NSS, full tune up, new paint job, lights, doors, new tires and rims...all the stuff that drains the wallet. ive just been trying to get as many ideas as possible to i can get it done and not worry about wheither or not to do one thing or another.

1-All wires running through the fender
2-from the roof to the weather stripping (underneath)
3-Connections are shrink wrapped and zip tied to the bar
4-Switches mounted to the dash
5-the ground underneath the carpet, just found a random bolt to use

6-the wire harness next to the fender
7-Wiring to battery.
Keep in mind i have 2 sets so there is pretty much a duplicate set up on the passenger door/fender. I had to buy extra wire in order for it to reach to the battery. i heat shrinked all the connections and used dielectric grease in the connections directly to the light.
As for the bar, its from KevinsOffroad and clamps onto the existing roof rails. its STURDY! I was skeptical because its just a clamp system but ive yanked on it many times and it doesnt budge. Its about 90 dollars before tax and shipping. Black powder coat and excellent customer service
