I'm not sure if this is the right section for this question or not so sorry in advance if it's not. But I have a flow master muffler and was wondering if getting 2.25 or 2.50 piping to replace my stock pipes will make it any louder?

 

2.25 is stock size at 2.5 I don't think it would be any louder but you might have some small power gain.

 

What else will make it any louder? Aside from straight piping

 

Replace the catylitic converter with a high flow and go with a more aggressive muffler.

 

Cut it off 2" after the muffler. If you want it louder than that.. Its a jeep. It doesn't need to be louder than that.

 

Who cares what it is if he wants it louder it's up to him.

 

You could just dump it off the header lol its loud as hell but since your a flowmaster guy try the super 10 and possibly an old rusted out cat itll make it pretty loud IMO youtube it I think theres one on there whith a gibson hi flow cat (Id go this way if you have emissions) it sounds like a straight pipe and is as free flowing as it.

I've just got headers, a FM knockoff muffler, and dumped under the rear passenger's door. Sounds great, not TOO loud, and I love the rumble.

 

Sorry to thread jack, but what do yall think of cherry bomb glass packs on xjs? Good or just obnoxious? Never hear one in person.

My camera won't pick up how deep the sound is on my spintech 9k.

Ya I have heard them and dont like the sound of a spintech. What if your talking bout for off road use for no cat? Besides the only way I have hear one with no cat is I put a new exhaust on my buddys and we fired it up and drove round the block with out the exhaust just to see what it sounded like. Sounds like an old drag car to me smelled like it to lol. So what cat has the best sound like a kinda hollowed cat sound?
