Question Electrical Question. Fuse Box? Power Box?

Alright so I wanna buy one of the panels from prime4x4.com but I don't have all my accessories that I plan on plugging into and rather than uninstall the panel everytime I want to add something I want to hook all of the switches up and run them to an "external hub/fuse box/power distrubution box" but I'm not too sure of what its actually called, I drew up a schematic of how I imagine it should look. Can anyone help steer me in right direction?

Thanks,
Jake

So how exactly does this work? Obviously this is so you can setup 6 different items but where does it pull the main power from and where is the main ground? I would assume you con.ext the positive end of the switch to this and then positives end of your accessory item to other end bit where does the negative switch aide and negative accessory side come into play?

Yea. I think I forgot to post pictures of it mounted though. It's under my passenger seat, all wires ran to my switch panel on the dash. Some switches are open for future accessories, so there are a few open fuse slots.

Go for it, I will help as much as I can. The relays add up so the overall cost will vary depending on how many relays you run.

Well I woul def like to do this project but im beginning to think my electronic knowledge is not so great... I don't know if I would need a relay or when the "proper" time to use a relay would be. In the past when I have installed automotive accessories I have just hooked the on/off switch up to battery when an in-line fuse and then ground on a nearby frame bolt or similar. This would be my first major electronic wiring setup.

It's not hard, just get creative with the box and put it somewhere accessible. And label the wires for future reference. Use the right connectors when needed and the correct gauge wire.

If you want me to take pictures of anything let me know. There are quite a few people who have done this mod and I have links on my computer that I can post later if you want to get some ideas.

I guess my biggest question would be the relays, do I need a relay for all of my switches?

Good deal, thanks.

So, in looking at that thread would it be a correct understanding in that all relays, the grounds are jumped to one another with the end relay not jumping to anything (this will ground to the frame). (pin 85)

The Blue wires, are wired to pin 30 or 87, and they would go directly to the accessories (lights etc) AND fuse? So lets say I would run 87 on all the fuses to each acc. and then 30 on each one would be ran to its own individual item (lights/cb/etc)

The red wires pin 86 would be wired directly to the postive end of the switch.

If I have the above information correct then where does the ground from the switches come into play and where does this box receives its main power supply?
