I have the 2100+ page 2000 Jeep Cherokee Service Manual in pdf form, and I cannot find the information I need.

I have a 2001 XJ Sport 4x4.

I am looking for specifics on the fuel pump circuit, specifically where it ties into the fuse panel. Many modern anti-theft systems use a fuel pump cut off to disable the vehicle.

XJ's are being stolen more and more often, and I am interested in hidden switches that enable/disable the fuel pump to avoid coming outside and seeing an empty space where my much loved XJ was parked

Thus, I need to determine amperage, and identify which leg of the wire to cut and route to a switch.

Any info?

I know I can install a kill switch, just wish to avoid having to use a solenoid. I want to be able to run the line straight through the switch - fewer parts = less likely to break down later on.

 

In the fuse block, you can use fuse #19 (10 amp) it's the clutch interlock switch. If you have an auto, it's a jumper. It'll be yellow/red. That'll disable the starter.

Give me a few more minutes and I can find something to disable the ASD. It disables a lot of things...

 

fuse 11 (20A) dark blue/white will disable the fuel pump relay.

So a 20 amp switch should be able to handle the load and disable the fuel pump. I appreciate it
