I'm sorry. The correct p/s pump is from a WJ. Sorry for the up for 20hr and posting. It will bolt right up to 96 and up. There are other posts on this.

You could also just keep using your original ps pump instead of creating a problem that doesn't exist. I would splice in a cooler in the return line too.

The Durangos went to rack and pinion in 2000, the same year the 4.7L was introduced n a Dodge (1999 for the Jeep Grand Cherokee). The 98-99s had conventional steering. NONE of the Durangos were solid front axle...ALL are independant front, unless someone did a SFA swap.

Was it stated up above anywhere which of the alternative steering gear boxes were good? I realize the Durango gear is the better one to go with but if I pull from a junkyard it's going to require a rebuild using a kit, right? Can I buy one already rebuilt or is it easy to rebuild one from the JY?
