So before I go crazy not being able to find this box, is it that much better? Honestly, who has done this swap? Can you turn 35's with your pinkie? I would like to know if its worth it. Thanks ahead for your personal input! I'm only asking cuz the JY's didn't have it, and I have dropped to much into the front diff, that I can't afford $200 for the box at the auto parts...dont want a divorce!

They changed in 01 when dodge switched to running independent front instead of solid front axle. 99 and 98 had steering boxes and a tie rod setup the later models had rack and pinion same as the 1500 trucks.

Found a'99 4x4 with the exact same gear box...in my eyes. Gonna go back with the stock one and mock it up. I offroad once a month and just went from 31 to 35's, so if its a big help, I'll do it. Still hoping someone responds with actually testing it out

Found specs on ebay.
Non plow gear box bottom mounting holes 2 3/8" apart
Snow plow gear box bottom mounting holes 4" apart
Xj mounting holes 2 3/8" apart.
This is how you find it at the jy, still gonna check if its"beefier"!
