I had the same issue with their duralast brand, but autozone gave me one chinese made like yours and one canadian made that was sleeve-less and the dust boot came off so it went in easily without issue. The chinese one I returned, after attempting to install (having no problems with the canadian made and not wanting to make another trip) and tearing the dust boot (amateur hour). They gave me full price and I found another canadian j at another autozone down the road. I think the sleeve is either to attach the the press to for installation possibly? or for another car application? I dunno, but I got rid of that thing. If you managed to get it in without tearing the boot and getting it torqued down, is there an issue? I saw one you tube vid where dude said duralast were the same as moog now and they are pricey compared to online prices so it seems like they'd hold up to the middle-of-the-road competition. Definitely not an ideal in my book, but thats what was available to me at the time. I'd like to hear if you've had any issues since driving on them.

cheers'

Spicer.

That is all.

Seriously, in the future try to get your hands on Spicer underpinnings. Ill run moog too when i cant get Spicer stuff. My O'Reillys is hit or miss sometimes, lol.

Those original poor tired steering and suspension parts that have held on for 20+ years and god only knows how many miles... Spicer made those.
