Default dual side dumps 1990 xj

im thinking of putting dual side dumps on my 1990 xj, with a cherrybomb. i need to have a cat and a muffler. any advice or tips? and what order would they need to go in?

..................................pipe/tip
................................./
headers==cat==muffler=< ................?
.................................\
..................................pipe/tip

or..

.....................muffler=pipe/tip
.................../
headers==cat< ..............................?
...................\
.....................muffler=pipe/tip

thanks in advance.

sorry if this is in the wrong place. i wasnt sure if it was fab or tech.

If it was me I would do the first one. Reason being the last time I looked under mine I don't think there would be anywhere else to put a second muffler, also that's just another thing looking to get smashed on something.

I think I saw where mudfrog or someone else has a dual kit in the vendor showcase.

Maybe from the cat into a Flowmaster 10 series with dual outlets out the back? The passenger side is no problem as that is the side where the tailpipe normally goes. The driver's side has fuel line, fuel filter and brake lines running along the frame rail. Regardless, you probably need to exit behind the passenger compartment to be legal.

If your outlets are straight out the back rather than pointing down, there will be less noise inside the vehicle.

I thought you had meant in front of the rear tire. That's were I go my ticket. In WI it has to go past the last window.
