Default Drop Pitman Arm w/ 6.5" Lift

Hey wondering which drop pitman arm guys are running with your big lifts

I need one.. Or so I think
My drag link and track bar seem to be a bit drastic on the angles

If you run an OTK steering kit and OTA track bar kit your steering angle will be much better off and you wont need a drop pitman arm. Not running a drop pitman arm will also reduce the leverage and extra stress added to your steering box that can cause it to rip off the frame if not reinforced.

Bump
Wondering if an adjustable track bar is what I'd be looking for any input?

You need an adjustable track bar with a drop bracket and a drop pitman arm to match.

Instead of the dropped pitman try this.

On my 6.5" lift I used 2 track bar drop brackets.
One on the frame side, and the other on the axle side.

It brought my trackbar AND the draglink almost perfectly parallel with each other.
Which is what you want.

This is what I did on my 96 XJ 2 door.
It was almost perfect alignment.

Axle side trac bar drop brackets are garbage.

I agree with this statement.

OTK steering with OTA trac bar mount is the only way to go.

If you can't afford steering, don't lift it that high.

It's on my list... As I said above.
I just fixed a number of things to it so $$ is a little tight for now.
I will take a picture of it when my buddy is done knocking out the ball joints

Looks like a drop pitman arm and a stock single sheer track bar bracket to me. You would have to see if you could find a pitman arm with even more drop then get a track bar with a drop bracket to match that angle. Your drag link to track bar angle dont seem too far off from parallel. They are just pretty steep.

At your current height you really need to consider an Over The knuckle steering upgrade.

Yes it's going to cost more to do it right.....but it's oh-so-worth it!
