I've suddenly developed a very noticeable popping sound coming from my front-end. I couldn't tell you if its driver or passenger side, it's a pretty significant sound that seems to come from everywhere and enough to where you can feel it in your feet and in the seat. Front differential has a limited slip in it, I took the plate off to see if any teeth were broke off (they weren't) and everything looked alright. A majority of you guys probably know what a limited slip sounds like when it gives; a quick, snapping clicking. This mystery sound is way different, a lot more of a loud and slow clunking. The frequency of the popping sound leads me to think that it's something axle or wheel related, rather than the gears. I would think that if it were gear related, being differential, tranny or T-case it would be much faster and sharper, not slow and deep. Its not my front driveshaft, because its currently not installed. Don't think its the U-joints because I just replaced them and they have no play. I'm seriously scratching my head on this one and and could use any help at this point. . First clicking is the limited slip, soon after the turn you can hear the low, popping sound.
