Default Driveshaft question

Hi guys! I have a 2000 Xj with a 4.5 inch lift and have a vibration with the front drive shaft. I noticed if I remove it the vib goes away. But yesterday I noticed the drive shaft veers towards the passenger side at the t case. Is that normal or is the tcase out put shaft suppose to align with pinion on the axle? Thanks for your time.

Change it or get it checked out at a place that can rebuild a drive shaft because they may need to cut and replace parts of the drive shaft .

a 4.5" lift will offset the entire front axle with respect to the frame

have you fitted an adjustable trackbar, or taken some action to compensate ?

Yes I have an adjustable track bar. Is it possible it has the wrong tranny mount so it's sitting off to the side?

I would think that your rear shaft would be offset too it that were the case. AFAIK, there is only 1 factory 4x4 trans mount, and it is the same for manual and auto trans. I might be wrong though.

Do you have adjustable upper control arms? How is your pinion angle? I have vibes in mine until I got the adjustables and reset my pinion angle. Watch your caster though, it is a little bit of a balancing act.

I believe it is possible to install the trans mount the "wrong" way... and it is offset to one side

its possible I am wrong here, in that it cannot be installed wrongly...have you replaced this part recently

The transmission mount can be put in backwards which will shift the transmission and transfer case over.
