now first things first, i know i can and prob should go to an exhuast shop and just have a custom one made but i dont have the funds for that after all the money iv spent this winter on my engine rebuild. so now to my questions, i need a downpipe for my 99" xj as mine is in horrid condition, i was gonna use one from my buddys 00" that he is tearing apart but they seem to be different, i was not aware the downpipes ever changed so does anyone now what year downpipes differ from other years? im just looking for one in substantial condition that i can throw on there and not havta worry about. so right now im basically looking to know what years downpipes are applicable with my 99" thanks!!

 

You can get a Walker down pipe from your local parts store. its like 40. bucks and doesn't have that stupid precat on it. that's what i'm running on my 99.

00-01's are different because they have more cats than our 99s. Different heads and coil pack ignition.

Just buy a new one and ur good.

Just a note. If you had a highflow cat and a nice cat back it will sound awesome.

I've got a performance-curve.com system on mine. the cat was 40.bucks and I got a 2.5 flowmaster super 44 cat back. I think that all cost me like 160.bucks. U will need a couple of hangers, but he sells them too.

So I got a complete exhaust for like 200. bucks. call him if you have any ?s

 

i have a fully rebuilt 4.0 with every bolt on upgrade i could do, and a performance curve exhuast setup from the cat back, will i need hangers for the downpipe? or are you saying hangers for the performance curve exhuast? bc i got some for that already.
