Door removal and installation of a cable harness.
Hi. I'm looking for advice on the removal of my 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ forward and rear doors. It's a daily driver and for the summers I wanted to make the mod. Have watched videos on cutting the door hinges and installing removable pins, but am more curious on what people have done for the wiring. I'd think installing a harness would be the best way to go, and if anyone had any advice on how it went, a good kit to buy or anything else I'd love to know. Thanks.

Thanks. It sounds like from reading through the attached forum that the adjustable mirrors and locks won't work since they are sensor based? Or did I miss read that? Otherwise, instead of using old door plugs, anyone know of plugs you can buy new?

It's been awhile since I read through it, but I have done this mod and everything works...as far as other connectors go, there's literally a multitude of options, Check out Mouser Electronics for options, Amphenol connectors like this would work well...

You can get the pins and crimp/removal tools from them as well...
