Hey everybody I have a 96 Jeep Cherokee non power windows and when I open my door that dldoor jamb button is dropping my idol and stalling my car only in the morning when it's cold if I push my finger in on that button everything is fine I disconnected the door jamb button so that I can start it and have the door open without it stalling the car I've replaced the door jamb button and I've checked the wiring connected to it I've checked grounds in my engine compartment I don't know how to fix this if I pull the boot off of the door opening there's only two wires there and none are crimped or broken or anything like that what else can I look for I've been dealing with this problem since winter thanks for your help in advance.

 

I just want to say, this is the most useful post on the internet that I have found in the last 20 years. Maybe ever. The stupid dome light always coming on with the doors made me pull the bulb out of my 97 SE 6 years ago and I've had to live in darkness. I finally got fed up last week and found this post. Found the yellow wire, then tested it with a jumper, then wired in a switch. Fixing this stupid annoyance makes me love it more. Wherever you are, oh poster from many, many years ago, I hope you're doing well, and I hope your XJ is doing well too, whevever it is. LET THERE BE LIGHT LOL!!!!! Thank you again!!!!!!!
