Do i really need drop brackets?
I've always had custom built long arms so I'll just build one again, but any should be able to adjust enough to work I believe.

7+ inches with short arms.. if you look at the angle running you realise ya you can get by but it beats the crap out of your arms brackets bushings etc

But running long arms on under a 6" lift has it's bonuses. When my fiance gets her XJ it will be a 3-4.5" kit with long arms.

I am at 6" right now on Rough Country X-Flex adjustable short arms. I went from 4.5 to 6 and the same control arms work fine. You just need to adjust them a little longer as you go higher. I must be honest with you, though. I am thinking of going up another 1-1.5" when my 33s wear out and I get 35s. My plan is to get the Rough Country drop brackets. Then, I will actually be able to shorten up my control arms and they will be much more horizantel which will make my Jeep ride better. I'm going to get the Rough Country shackle relocation brackets to gain more lift in the rear.
