Just got it back from having a guy do the H&T & now it sounds like I have ball bearings rolling around in the t case & rear end. Oh yeah, I forget to add, NOW I have vibrations.
I hope it's the JY d shaft he put in.

The diff is pointing at the t case out put. The center ball was missing the needle bearings, dry as a bone, & 1/4 of the race was worn away. Just got done rebuilding it. Gotta make supper & then bolt it up. Hope it fixed it.

They call it "tweetie birds" in your driveshaft. Common thing in an LJ. That's how I diagnosed mine. Pretty simple rebuild if you got the tools. Hope that was your issue.

Spent $20 that I didn't have to (buying it). Couldn't make it over a pipe garden because the crossmember hit because it was lowered. Puts strain on mounts, tilts the engine at a funky angle, after taking my drop off my jeep seemed to run better and make less noises (maybe just a coincidence), the tcase drop didn't fully fix my problem ( driveshaft would still bind pulling my trailer up my driveway because of axle wrap), made my exhaust hang down lower and ripped it off because it got caught going over the top of a hill, there's more but I think that's enough reasons why.

I was saying a good SYE is around $250 and a good drive shaft the same. Something that is Ideal if you can afford it right when you lift it. Yes you can get by with a front drive shaft from a JY but a woods or similar shaft cost between $200-$300. And well worth the money when it come to serious off road-ing .

I have a spare from a ZJ that I carry that will fit both in mine if ever in a pinch. Not perfect but will get me home I think.

x2 for Big Dave - install the lift and THEN fix the real problems that arise. Don't waste time trying to fix something that hasn't even happened yet.
