Disc brake conversion

Disc brake conversion
If I have all the parts and tools can I do the disc brake conversion on my 2001 XJ in less than 10hrs?? including prop valve change and bleeding the lines.

Yes, that should be plenty of time... I just did the conversion a couple weeks ago- night & day better braking, fyi- I didn't do the prop. Valve, & I don't plan on it..

By the way, have you checked out 'big davids' forum he is a vendor on here selling conversion kits... Might have helpful info for you... Theres also links to a couple installs..

A complete noob could do this in 4 hours,by themselve,with the correct tools.
You would need a helper to bleed the brakes.I installed the PV & only bled the rear brakes & all seems well.
While you are at it,I would highly recommend changing the axle seals & bearings.They are the ones on the very end where the brakes mount.
You will need to rent /borrow a removal tool from a parts store.Takes about 5 minutes per side to remove & you can use your old bearing to help make the new one flush in the housing.

Ok, thanks for everone input but I have a major problem.... I'm not pumping ant fluid when I try to bleed the brakes. Not even to the front brakes which were not messed with. I put a new master cylindar on and still nothing. I've tried 3 corners and nothing. This is starting to upset me some as this is simple hydraulics. Need some Major imput.....

No I didnt as the ZJ prop has a different size sensor and sensor plug...But I am beginning to suspect the old prop valve.....Don't know where to get one on short notice though
