Its MOD TECH because his model was not equipped with it and modified his model with different gauges
FABRICATION would be if he put a custom set of gauges from another vehicle type or aftermarket ones.

What was the mileage diff between the two? Mine added 40k to the vehicle.
With the older cluster its pretty easy to zero them out or to the correct mileage. I zero mine out when I did my swap.

One wire in 94. About twice the size of the one in the photo.

Ok the one I just replaced was bigger. I thought I was a two wire harness since it had two prongs on the sensor. Thank you for straight ing that out.

Took them apart and then reset the mileage. On the pre 97s with the electronic speedo its a little bit harder but is possible, I've done both. Mechanical speedo the case is metal and can be press out of the locks and just smash the locks again.

I figured a mechanical one could be done but never got a firm answer whether doing an electronic one was possible or not. Thanks for the info.

When I swapped mine out, I found a write-up on "adjusting" the odometer so I just set the odo in the new cluster to match the one I was replacing. I did all sorts of things to cover my *** in the event someone questioned the legality of changing the odometer.

When I swapped my dummy lights I just put the old speedo/odo on the new cluster iirc. Kept my nice low mile odo and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference
