Diaries of a DD with auto lockers front and rear.
I watched it and I believe you! I just had a very different experience with mine - I had other people install them for me too so it could be install error, yes, but when I had the guy who worked for Aussie reset the backlash on both my front and rear Spartans, it was better but still noticeable.

I agree. There is a lot of variance in the brands. I have LOKKAs in mine front and rear. Front is completely transparent and rear makes a ratcheting noise. Not real good in snow, but excellent on the highway etc. The difference in brands is the manufacturing process. Many are made with precision casting methods. You can get to .003" with this method. But that is not as accurate as machining. My opinion for what it is worth is that the sloppier the mold after many castings the greater the variance. I have some Spartans I haven't used yet but these look to be better made, I think

You are not the only Jeeper that hates the noise coming form a Aussie locker but it does take some time getting used to it and the benefits out weigh the noise. I think that "00t444e" has an anomaly locker where he doesn't have the sound. This is not common amongst the forum regardless what gear oil you use. I am happy for him though...

You are an ANOMALY and you advise cost me an additional $40.00 in gear oil that I didn't need to purchase based on many forums and forum members stories. You are the only one chirping about how quiet your Spartan locker is. Stop giving advise on this as there is nothing wrong with the noise associated with the Spartan locker.
