Smarter question would be what do you plan to do with your jeep? Extreme trails, easy trails? What size tires you plan to run and keep at? You need to search and search some more and read up on what others use in your area and what your plans are. Simply asking what kind of locker isn't a sufficient question. For me, I'm planning in keeping my rear LSD for street friendliness. And adding a locker up front

IMO these seem to be the most DD friendly auto locker.

A rear auto locker on a dd isn't bad once you get used to it. Ive never played with one in an auto, but with a manual trans, they can get interesting in tight parking lots. I drove with a lock right in my 8.25 for about a year. If you get snow where your at, you need to be a little careful because it will put you around fast if your not paying attention. As soon as i get the extra cash, ill be putting an aussie in my current daily. Once you drive something with a locked rear, you will hate going to back to something open

Think "Gears" at the same time you install lockers you will need them somewhat on 31's and a must have on 33's. Been there done that for too long, my new gears are going in at the same time as my lockers are getting ready to order them now. Everything is apart and no better time for a re-gear same labor required.
I have the same as you D-30 Chry 8.25 deciding between 4.56 or 4.88's on 33's now.

I went 4.56, seems more of a fit for me with 33's.
To Charlie, I was planning on going with a / Spartan in my 8.25 / 29 spline but changed my mind and am going with an Air locker (more sensible for me). Are you runnin an Auto or manual Trans? I had the PowerTrax in my Wrangler (manual). Honestly I hated it in there, but with an Auto most guys say they don't really feel it in there.... It's really gonna be your preference & what your wallet can handle.
If you're interested I've got my Spartan Brand New in box I wanna get rid of.....
Good Luck.

I agree find an 8.25 with a factory LSD. I'd rather run an open diff than pay good money for an LSD. I've seen these fail miserably when they're absolutely needed, and go unnoticed when they are actually in use during mild wheeling
definitley start saving up money for some gears

I have:
Rear = No Slip = Works great and makes no sounds.
Front = Aussie = Works great but is loud as fricken hell on a tin shed with cats and dogs fighting in sack with jack-hammers and machine guns.
