Hello! I have a ‘98 Limited XJ and I recently installed:
- a 3” lift on it
- new front sway bar + links
- steering stabilizer
- swapped the rear end (I also have an ‘01 that’s body is beat to hell/engine is about to go out, so we’re using it for parts)
- swapped wheels/tires out
- all new drum brakes (including one backing plate)
Ever since doing all of that, I’ve been getting really horrible death wobble. I got it aligned after installing the lift, and it helped a little but didn’t fix it. The wobbling occurs at 55+ or if I hit a good enough bump 40+. Took it to my mechanic and they said that they actually couldn’t recreate the wobbling. But then they informed me that my rear axle is bent, which is crazy because it wasn’t bent before we swapped it, didn’t notice it while swapping it.
I haven’t felt any weird vibrations, but I don’t doubt my mechanic. They told me that it was low on tranny fluid as well. They then said it is possible the rear axle being bent *could* cause the front to wobble, so I’m wondering if anyone’s ever dealt with anything similar to this.
I appreciate anyone’s thoughts on my situation, and advice. Thank you.

what sort of "rear axle" do you have? D35 or Chrysler?
does he mean axle, or axle housing.tubes...they are weak on a D35, and if bent the whole rear end needs replacing
if its just the axle, replace
verify what he is talking about 1st
