The only dana 60 axle that's splined on both ends are front axles, something totally different altogether.
thank you for the info. Learned something new

I mixed up factory vs aftermarket which you can get double splined like http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/tr...g-dana-60-kit/ and http://www.branikmotorsports.com/axle.htm

Everything I listed IS aftermarket.........and I think you mixed up a little more then factory vs aftermarket.

Double splined axles were not used in stock D60s in 99.999% of the cases....simply won't work (I say 99.999% since there may be a few that were built with a lockout on the hubs of a rear axle housing for specific applications like aircraft tugs or similar).

What you are talking about is an aftermarket modification kit to put a lockout hub on a D60 rear axle and/or convert semi float to full float, or in the case of the 2nd link, putting a drive flange on vice a lockout hub to do the same thing......both of these are $$ modifications not simply replacing a shaft, that only the most hardcore would do. And in the case of the drive flange, it will make the hub stick out even further.

IN fact, if you look at the 2nd link, and scroll down some past the drive flanges, it shows normal full float & semi float axle shafts for a D60, none of which are double splined.

Yes, you can get double splined axles for a D60, but you will not use them in a stock housing without spending a lot of money and the requisite parts for the hub/spindle modifications or drive flanges.

I can get a steering 14b axle too, if I want to pay for it, but it is not OEM.

In your original post, you said:

The bold print is just flat out wrong.

The only double splined D60 axles are high dollar, application specific aftermarket modifications that most people will never need or use.

And saying most aftermarket & OEM D60 axles are semi float is just flat out wrong. Truth be known, most are actually full float, and are splined on one end only with a flange on the other that bolts to the hub.
