Hey guys...I currently own a 98 TJ and am looking to add a built XJ as well. I found one on Craigslist that I absolutely love...one quick question though.
Seller claims the rear end is a "GenRight Dana 60". Problem is, I can't find online anywhere that GenRight sells a Dana 60. They have Currie axles on their website but none with their name on it. GenRight sells a 4link truss for a Dana 60 but this isn't linked anyways.
Can anyone tell from this picture what axle it is? Is it a Dana 44 or is it in fact a Dana 60?
But a semi float dana 60 which that probably is is only good tell 37s,I would buy a virgin xj and spend the money to build it how i want vs buy one someone else built.
Big david the axles you seen if they had a hub on the end with lugs thats a semi float axle.A full float has splines on both ends and uses a hub kinda like a old 4x4 font axle has,Most aftermarket dana 60s are semi float and same thing goes for most oem ones are also.
Thanks for the info. It was a couple years ago & I want didn't pay attention to the end, just the neck down. I was shocked to see it, that's my excuse & I'm sticking to it. LOL

FF dana 60 axles DO NOT have splines on both ends. Neither do semi float axles.
On FF the diff end has splines, the wheel end has a 4"-5" diam flange that bolts to the hub with 8 bolt holes. On SF the diff end has spline, and the wheel end has a 6"-8" diam flange the drum/disc bolts to with 5, 6, or 8 lugs, depending on vehicle make.
see here for FF.....note the last sentence in the ad description.
Some older AMC axles did use splines on both ends, but not dana 60s. The only dana 60 axle that's splined on both ends are front axles, something totally different altogether.
