Thumbs down Dana 60 Rear-end?

I just bought a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited model for 300.00. It appears to have a factory installed Dana 60 rear differential with disc brakes, the parts sticker is still visible but can't find a dana 60 cast into the housing. Could this be a H.O.360 option as I have never seen a factory installed dana 60 in a Grand Cherokee????? Chevokeeman.

Its not a 8 1/4" Corporation or a dana44, I crawled under it and measured the width of the cover on my Cj with a Dana60 and compared to the Grand Cherokee and they are both 10 1/2" wide on the cover, I think that this is the wholy grail of Grand Cherokees with the H.O. 360 engine, its way too big for a dana 44 and not the right shape for a 9 1/4 in. rear end. I liked to see a picture too. Really hard to believe and if it is a dana 60 someone is stupid for selling whole thing for 3 hundred

Is the diff housing aluminum?

Is this a 5.2 or 5.9L V8? Both would have come with the D44a which utilizes an aluminum diff.

Here is a picture of my dana 60 cover on my CJ-5 which is the shiny black one, the second picture is of the cover on my newly acquired 1998 Grand Cherokee "Limited", way too big for a dana 44 and doesn't match the other covers so if it isn't a dana 60, what is it?

Look for photos in my photo album, Under Dana 60

Can't see any of the pics.

But, are you sure you just don't have a d44 in your cj?

Grands never came with a d60.

My guess is d44a
