Default DANA 44 build-up

I've decided to upgrade my rear axle just for the heck of it, not because I think I will ever blow up my D35, as I do not rock climb - more like wheeling on trails, forest roads, mud and snow.

I have acquired an original 87-89 XJ Dana 44 with 3.07, which is already in the shop getting stripped.

A friend is giving me his Alloy 30 spline shafts, as he is upgrading to 35 splines on his TJ.

I have already sourced a 4.10 ring and pinion kit (Spicer 706017-5x)

The intention is to install an Eaton e-locker, but I gather there are a number of parts I am missing. What else do I need to get to complete this project?

Do I need a new carrier since this was a 3.07? Are there any ring, seal, or other kits I need to get to complete the overhaul?

Thank for the info....

yes, you should get a master install kit which included all bearing and seals needed.

Thanks for the info.

I am also doing the ABS modification. Just sourced some tone rings and the shop will machine them and the shafts to tap them on. found a great thread on how to do that...

The E-Locker is a full case locker, so it replaces the carrier. I would also replace the diff cover with an armored type cover to protect your new diff.

^^x2! Mine as well convert it to disc brakes while you're at it.

Your best option is to snag the parts off a donor rig at your favorite junkyard.
