I agree yota axles are way stronger..

the recipe for that is

HP third ARB 5.29's
Longfields
wiper seals
6 shooter knuckles
trail gear flanges....

I have broken YUkon chromo's on 35's, and Alloy Usa shafts on 33's. Both sets were 27 spline ones... needless to say I dont own a d30 anymore
Did you actually break the shafts or did the Ujoints break and take out the shafts? Also were you using CroMo joints or the HD Spicers those axles usually come with?

end question is will it last till winter running pitbull rocker 37s? they weigh less than TSL 36s but are supposed to be grippier. i know i have to be very light on the skinny pedal.
Here's some opinions on another thread.

Yes look at the pics.. I broke the inner axle in the splines, and broke the stub shaft off.

I was running the spicer 760x joints.. That tells me the d44 joints are stronger then the shafts

SO unless you do the 30 spline upgrade you are wasting your money on chromos in the d30. It took me 2 sets of shafts to figure that out. Luckily I had a d44 sitting behind the garage ready to be built

Make sure not to throw a locker in it also.

I think it also depends on what kind of wheeling you do...
your rig wont stay running long enough to break the axel

the main thing is if you are not breaking shafts then the R&P is bigger on the D44. as here is what happens with a D30 R&P with 33's and stock (open) 3.07's
