dana 30 axle mount bent...
i was off roading with my 90 XJ, 32" swampers and 4.5" RC lift, and hit a hole under some water and it stopped the jeep in its tracks ( i was doing about 10mph), rear tires came off the ground for a minute, all on the passenger front side. i got out to see if anything had bent cuz i hit pretty hard and the lower axle mount on the passenger side is bent just slightly, you cant really tell much by looking but i can tell when driving that something is is off slightly, only slightly! should i unbolt the control arm and hammer it back to its original position and put some tac welds on it? its knocked over maybe an inch or two out of position. it still drives great, just pulls to the right barely. Thanks!

just replace them now. they are sheet metal, and pretty flimsy. I ripped the pass side right off the axle.
I replaced mine with ballistic mounts, but the hole is slotted for castor adjustment, which I do not like.
I cant think who, but someone does make a mount with standard holes, maybe ruffstuff?
anyway, replace it now and be done with it. box the upper mount while you are at it also.

ruffstuff does make brackets. another choice if you can bend it back is to do so, and then weld some good skids to it. Mine are the stock mounts with 1/8" plate welded to the axle and to the mount, keeps it real rigid

They rip off pretty easily and once bent if you hammer it back and weld on gussets you're heating the metal and it's going to bend again. I use the Rusty's mounts and they can be had with slotted holes or regular ones.

pictures would help paint a better picture of the damage but as those above have said; it's better to go ahead and cut them off and replace them with a 1/4" plate alternative. It's best to box out the stock mounts before it happens. I feel once it has, you're better off replacing them.
