D44/60 on 37?
Ok i hav a 4.5" lift with 2" spacers/blocks and im puttin a d44/60 out of a 78 f250 and upgrading to long arms under my xj next week and i hav a set of tsl 33x12.50x15 wit bout 95% tread left and i found some 37x12.50x16.5 for $250 a set. the question is could i fit 37 wit that amount of lift and still b able to flex? but if i kept the 33 and got a 15" wheel with the right backspacing to fit the 8 lug axles the thing would b extremely wide i would imagine and wouldnt b able to make it through trails right? If anyone has any suggestions or pics would b great!!

the 44 its a little small to be running 37s. and the 60 is small for 33s. you can get away with 37s on the 44 if you keep out of the gas to hard. as far as lift goes you'll need to cut a good amount and bump stop it to keep them from tearing up your rig

4.5" is not enough for 37s unless you want to have no front fenders and rear tires in your cargo area when flexed. My friend has an 84 F150 on 37s, about 14" total lift and full flex they clear by about 3 inches. You will need at least 8 inches of lift and probably fender trimming as well.
The 44 is fine up front with 37s, this truck has a locked 44 front and 9" rear. Nothing's broken (yet)

if they are the humvee 37s they run closer to a 36, they are not bad off road but they are hard so they dont grip the best. also they are heavy with out alloy shafts your gonna brake parts on the 44 with them. remember the 44 is only a bigger ring gear from a dana 30, same shafts and u joints

you can fit 37's with that amount of lift, you'll just have to do alot of cutting and bumpstopping. the front 44 can survive 37's if it's built right and you dont mash the gas pedal too much.
and i've never heard anything good about those military pull off tires, pretty much just for show

I'm running those axles and you can fit a 15" wheel. I ground a little off my caliper brackets to fit 4" backspacing but I'd suggest just getting 2.75" backspacing and call it done. Stay away from the GY MTs. They weigh a ton, have thick sidewalls that won't flex with 0psi and the tread sucks. It's not as wide as you think. I'm about 3-4" wider on each side than stock.

If you're talking to me just click on my photos, there are a few in there. The one's with the chrome wheels are stock axles. It's a ton of work and a decent bit of coin but worth it in the end.

If you can get all that and it's quality work go for it. I got 1400 in the tires and wheels I'm putting on mine. Don't even want to think about what I have in my axles.

Yeah hes done a couple of my lifts so i no he does good work! Well i was lookin for them axles to put under my chevy and found a 78 f250 for $200 the guy said it didnt run but my buddy messed wit it one day while i was at work and the gas tanks were rusted out so he put a gas jug in the back and run the fuel line to it and it fired right up! So we gave it hell for a month then cut the axles out and sold the truck back to the guy for $100 so i only gave $100 for my axles!
