Default D35 to 8.25 swap

My new DD is a 99 XJ with ABS and a d35 rear. Well it needs rear brakes and I want an 8.25 so I figure I'll kill two birds with one stone. 29 spline 8.25 and ZJ disc brakes. I've seen a lot of information on this swap but nothing crazy specific on what to do with the ABS to delete it. Being this is a DD I want it safe. I basically just need to know what's all involved here before I rip the *** end of my DD apart. It's lifted 3.5", I already have new 8.25 U bolts, and ZJ pads and rotors.

Thanks!

Have a link to that? It isn't under his differential tab or his brakes tab?

I can't speak to the ZJ brake conversion, since I have an XJ 44 and used 8.8 parts to convert mine, but I did get rid of the ABS on my 98 when I swapped the d35 for an XJ d44. Here is what I did:

- Remove D35 (the first step, and arguably the most gratifying) and the wiring for the sensors
- Install 8.25
- Swap prop valve for one from a non-ABS XJ (you'll have 2 fewer brake lines in the front now)
- Run new lines from prop valve to passenger front and driver front, and new line from prop valve to junction with the rear line (which is just below the ABS unit under the hood)
- Remove ABS fuses and relays
- Remove ABS unit from under the hood (seal up connector on the plug end, or unplug from main wiring harness)
- Now do your ZJ disk stuff to the 8.25 (many write-ups can be found for this all across the interwebs)
- Figure out the e-brake stuff

Done!

I've seen I can just disconnect the wiring from the axles and from the abs pump? Would that be an ok temp fix?
