I run a lock-rite in my 30, rear 8.8 has a spool in it. I put it in 2hi every now and then to take corners but dont really need to. I love it, when im in 4WD its always locked, never had an issue with it. My rig is strictly offroad to

Back when I ran a D30 with 33s and 35s I ran an Aussie and never had any issues.

I'm running 35s and a stroker and have had no issues with my Spartan. Guess I'm not as heavy on the right foot. A locked Dana 30 with 35s I could see tearing up any of those lunchboxes with enough right foot. I've always heard good things about Aussie lockers though.

My Spartan was in a D44 on 35s and broke on the third ride.

Don't do that, it will fall apart like everything else made in China. Haha. I run Aussie lockers in the front and rear of mine. Its not the best on road but its not a DD. You can pick up 2 Lokka lockers for under $500 so I would go that route. If its not a DD you don't really need selectable lockers, plus if your working on a budget...

Just buy a full case locker like a Detroit or one like it they are much stronger than a lunch box locker and quieter also..........BTW stay away from the China JUNK!

I'm running grizzly lockers front and rear. I love it. I feel the front lock up when turning but I just hold on to it. It still does what I tell it and it doesn't stop. I haven't done much wheeling in it yet, though, since I just started the build but I drive it everyday everywhere I go.

I've got an Aussie locker up front in my HP D30, and a Powertrax no slip locker in the rear 8.25. It works really well off road, and I just deal with the clicking on tight turns on road. If I had D44's or something beefier, and ran over 35+ inch tires, I'd use a Detroit in the rear, and an ARB or Elocker up front.

I've ran a Spartan in my front for almost 2 years and its great off road but sucks on road. It pops and bangs like its exploding when turning left. I think I got a dud cause i've drove two other xjs with the same locker that are a lot quieter. I've even installed new springs and swapped it out of a lp and into my hp and it still loud , but i'm used to it. I'm going to try Aussie in the rear.
