Default D-Ring mount for front tow hook brackets?

I need to get some front recovery points on the front of my 91 XJ. I really like the idea of D-Rings instead of the tow hooks.

Does anyone make the D-Ring mount for the tow hook brackets anymore? After doing some digging I found HiCountry and Rusty's used to sell these, but can't find anything recent.

To be clear, I want to install the c4x4 brackets and then replace the tow hooks with something like this so I can use a D-Ring.

You mean these?

I was looking for something that mounts in place of the tow hooks. I would like to buy the C4x4 brackets and replace the hooks with D-Rings.

The factory tow hooks and mounting location are not that sturdy. The pic you posted up ties into more places and is a better option.

Yea. The factory tow hooks mount to the bumper and the furthest bolt back. No where near as strong as that plate design

I am not sure if he even sells those anymore. The thread has been closed.

I don't have factory tow hooks. Or are you saying those bigger brackets would be better than the c4x4 bracket?

You want brackets for a D-Ring to be like the photo posted above that ties into the frame much stronger and places the load over a larger area.

The factory tow hook brackets that I've had, are pretty much the exact same as the C4x4, which I've also had.

I can guarantee you those are stronger that that plate design posted above.

I posted how that was an inferior design (thought could be easily improved), as it sits.

Pm the guy. He may have one laying around. I had a set of Tomkin mounts. The first rock it encountered bent one hook almost 45 degrees. Anything factory styled is garbage, imo.

You want something beefy. Don't want it bending or ripping out.

majority of bumpers available tie in and mount just like those plated d rings. There are no factory tow hooks that mount better.

It's not the bolt locations that are the issue...
